CALL TO WORSHIP

SCRIPTURE READING (Colossians 1:15–20)

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

ADORATION

PRAISE TO THE LORD

VERSE 1
Praise to the Lord
The almighty, the King of creation
O my soul praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation

All ye who hear
Now to His temple draw near
Join me in glad adoration

VERSE 2
Praise to the Lord
Who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth
Shielded thee under His wings
Yea so gently sustaineth

Hast thou not seen
How thy desires have been
Granted in what He ordaineth

VERSE 3
Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him

Let the amen sound from His people again
Let the amen sound from His people again
Let the amen sound from His people again
Gladly forever adore Him

VERSE 4
Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore him
All that has life and breath, come now with praises before him
Let the Amen sound from his people again
gladly forever adore him

CONFESSION

CALL AND RESPONSE

LEADER
Lord, we look for You in the wrong places. We put our trust in material things. We worry about things we can't change. We wonder if you are even there. For all the times we have doubted You Lord,

TOGETHER
Forgive us.

LEADER
For all the ways we have neglected Your Word and ignored Your people,

TOGETHER
Forgive us. Do not be far from us, Lord. Renew our fickle hearts and help us put our trust in You.

ASSURANCE

HE WILL HOLD ME FAST

VERSE 1
When I fear my faith will fail,
Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail,
He will hold me fast.

I could never keep my hold
Through life’s fearful path;
For my love is often cold;
He must hold me fast.

CHORUS
He will hold me fast,
He will hold me fast;
For my Savior loves me so,
He will hold me fast.

VERSE 2
Those He saves are His delight,
Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in His holy sight,
He will hold me fast.

He’ll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost,
He will hold me fast.

VERSE 3
For my life He bled and died,
Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied;
He will hold me fast.

Raised with Him to endless life,
He will hold me fast
‘Till our faith is turned to sight
When He comes at last!

SONG OF RESPONSE

DEATH IN HIS GRAVE

VERSE 1
Though the Earth Cried out for blood
Satisfied her hunger was
Her billows calmed the raging seas
For the souls of men she craved

The sun and moon from balcony
Turned their head in disbelief
Their precious Love would taste the sting
Disfigured and disdained

CHORUS 1
On Friday a thief
On Sunday a King Laid down in grief
But awoke with the keys

Of Hell on that day
The First Born of the Slain
The Man Jesus Christ
Laid death in His grave

VERSE 2
So three days in darkness slept
The Morning Sun of Righteousness
But rose to shame the throes of death
And over turn his rule

Now daughters and the sons of men
Would pay not their dues again
The debt of blood they owed was rent
When the day rolled anew

BRIDGE
He has cheated
Hell and seated
Us above the fall

In desperate places
He paid our wages
One time once and for all

REVIVE US AGAIN

VERSE 1
We praise Thee, O God
For the Son of Thy love
For Jesus who died
And is now gone above

CHORUS 1
Hallelujah! Thine the glory
Hallelujah! Amen
Hallelujah! Thine the glory
Revive us again

VERSE 2
We praise Thee, O God
For Thy Spirit of light
Who hath shown us our Savior
And scattered our night

VERSE 3
All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain
Who hath borne all our sins
And hath cleansed every stain

VERSE 4
All glory and praise
To the God of all grace
Who hast brought us and sought us
And guided our ways

VERSE 5
Revive us again
Fill each heart with Thy love
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above
